Two Devils

The picture depicts a satirical conversation between two “Devils”.  One is telling stories about being various Georgian noble men. While talking about some of his activities,it becomes apparent that the conversation is criticism directed towards actual nobles of Georgia.

The first Devil - When I used to be a prince of Kakheti I heard about some issues concerning the railway station. With the help of the news, I received a permit to work on the railway.

The second Devil - Oh!

The first Devil - When I used to be a prince of Sachkhere, I put on the clothes of a peasant and became a writer.

The second Devil - Oh!

The first Devil - When I used to be a prince of Guria women adored me.

The second Devil - Bravo!

The first Devil - When I used to be a prince of Odishi I was quite ignorant. However, nowadays I am a famous and outstanding man!

The second Devil - Hoorah!

The first Devil - When I used to be a princess of Gurieli I charged people with huge land taxes. 

The second Devil - Hoorah!

The first Devil - When I used to be a prince of Svaneti I ordered the abolition of the unity of people. 

The second Devil - Bravo!
