The story tells of a tree that bore golden fruit and a large bird who would come by to steal it. The owner of the tree asked his son to catch the bird, and the boy got into many strange adventures while fulfilling this task. In the background of the illustration we see a tree with golden fruit and a bird stealing it; below it we see the young boy with a wolf who helped him to find the bird.
